When I did the keyword research for my own website, the process moved through four stages: brainstorming, auto suggestions, related searches and a keyword comparison against SERP and Keyword Planner data.
1. Brainstorming
Write down every phrase a potential client might type. For a digital marketing service in Kannur that means service words, role words and location words in every sensible combination.
2. Auto suggestions
Type the seed terms into Google and record what it completes for you. Auto suggestions come from real search behaviour, which makes them a free signal of demand.
3. Related searches
Scroll to the bottom of the SERP. Related searches reveal the adjacent phrasing people use, and often surface intent you would not have guessed.
4. Compare and prioritise
Bring the shortlist into a table with SEO difficulty, paid difficulty and estimated cost per click, and check what is already ranking in the SERP.

Turning the list into pages
A keyword list is only research until it becomes structure. Each priority keyword should map to one page with a matching title, heading and body copy — and then be monitored in Google Search Console to see whether it is actually being indexed and served.
